REALITY vs. FICTION

The average Bible student is aware of the Black presence in the Old Testament Narrative.  But the actual extent of Black participation in historically defining events is perceived as peripheral at best, when the truth of the matter is that they were cast in the most central roles of their time.  And, if further truth be told, the Old Testament Narrative is disappointingly incomplete without the complementary balance of the Egyptian perspective.  No time was this fact more apparent than after the decipherment of the Rosetta Stone.  For at least 1,200 years man was dumbfounded by the enigmatic symbols known as hieroglyphs.  Surely, if only they could be read,  the mysteries of the Bible would finally be laid bare, along with the greater secrets of the universe.  Then, in 1822, Champollion announced that he had cracked the code.  But rapture quickly dissolved into frustration as Academics, Theologians, and Potentates of Divinity came to the realization that they were worst off than before!  They couldn't find ANY mention of the Patriarchs, the Exodus, or the so-called Conquest of Canaan.  Instead, what they discovered was that a veneer of reality (the OT narrative) had managed to conceal a more true and ancient history, over which it had superimposed itself for more than a thousand years.
