A LIGHT SHINING IN THE DARKNESS
Senenmut's Cryptogram
- Decrypting Kemet -
UPDATED FEB. 5, 2026 9:29 A.M.
Actually, the statue contains a cryptogram inside a cryptogram inside yet another cryptogram.
Starting with his name: "Brother Of the Mother". This implies that the mother was also the daughter of the father. In ancient Egypt, the terms "Brother" and "Sister" didn't necessarily denote a biological kinship. It could mean that two people were from the same social class, or attended the temple and following of the same god. To add a dash of intrigue to the mix, it could also refer to husband and wife, or simply lovers. Senenmut's name reflect his relationship to Hatshepsut and his place in her administration. He is her brother in the sense that they both serve the same god --- Amun. She is the god's daughter by virtue of her divine birth from his body. She is also his wife due to her status as his High Priestess, which is reflected in her title as God's Wife. As a consequence, she is also Mut ("Mother"), forming part of the Theban triad along with Amun and their son Khonsu the moon deity.
As for the statue, it should be correctly read from top to bottom, instead of the current process of bottom upward from the pedestal (which is here misinterpreted as the sign for Maat, whose main symbol is the feather). Exclude a translation of the horns and lunar disc between them; they represent a crown, which is never vocalized when depicting a common image of a god. (In this case signifying Hathor in her lunar aspects). You should begin with the image of the cobra, which is the main focus point and has a phonetic value of 'Dje(u)'. Next, the upraised arms upon which the cobra rises: 'Ka'. Together they form the word Dje(u)-Ka, the 10th nome of U.E., in which the place of the Ka of Dje(e) is consecrated. A place sacred to Hathor. Concerning Hathor, the title Mut is also attached to her High Priestess in Denderah, her main temple. As well as being the name associated with the High Priestess of Akhmin (i.e., Khem). And we know with certainty of Senenmut's connection with the goddess Hathor because there's a statue of him with the sistrum (see figure below), a musical instrument primarily associated with her. And also because, even as a non-royal person, his tomb contained a celestial ceiling modeled almost in exact detail of that depicted in Hathor's Denderah temple. So we see that his statue was able to communicate on several cryptic levels simultaneously.

[Sunday. 9/28/2025 5:08 PM. I must make a correction. Currently, as far as physical evidence confirms, Senenmut's astronomical ceiling is the oldest discovered thus far. Therefore, it cannot be a replica of the Denderah ceiling as it exists now, since this temple is proven to be of Graeco-Roman origin. It was, however, reconstructed on the foundation of a much older one, dating back, according to more textual evidence, to Egypt's Old Kingdom (c. 2700 - 2200 BC). And Senenmut could not have rightfully been called the "Father of Ancient Egyptian Astronomy," because, again, textual evidence support the existence of astronomical structures in Old Kingdom Heliopolis; and also because Senenmut never referred to himself as such in his autobiographies. In any event, Senenmut's ceiling must still be a copy of some earlier version, which I still maintain was one belonging to Hathor. Why do I persist? Because astronomy was one of the secret sciences taught in the House Of Life. But such learning was reserved for royalty & the elite. Senenmut was neither. Therefore, he must've received patronage. Senenmut can't logically be his birthname, unless we are to presume that his future was preordained before his birth. It suggests a fictive kinship at best. And, as It-Neter was the title of the high priest of Min/Khem, Mut-Neter was the title of the high priestess of Hathor/Denderah --- the person whom he most likely received the patronage from. Also, not only was Hathor's temple considered a House Of Life, she was also known by the name Iunet, which is very similar to the Iunet associated with Armant, the city it is speculated to have been Senenmut's place of birth].

Moving right along ....
Ham (or Hem) we know also meant priest or servant in ancient Egypt. So it's no great wonder that the sons of the Biblical Ham should also be cast as servants. As discussed earlier, the "Land Of Ham" was simply a variant of the "Land Of Khem", i.e., Kemet. Now, however, it's not only the "Black" land; but also the "Land Of The Priests". "... And you shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation." (Ex. 19:6); variously, "... a royal priesthood...." (LXX), which in the context of Egypt meant a priesthood dedicated to the cult of pharaoh.

Based upon the proposition that the priests of ancient Egypt underwent the compulsory rite of circumcision, let me now present an alternate interpretation of the hieroglyphs attending the word Kemet as it could be defined or encrypted. The crocodile skin (I8) can represent Sia (FIG 1), who's also symbolized by the 'water-source' or 'irrigated-land' sign (N39), a likely metaphor for a fertile mind. Ultimately, Khem (the irrigated land) is identified as a projection, or consequence, of Khem (the Black God of fertility)! The owl (G17) can be an onomatopoeic of Hu (FIG. 2). Concerning Hu, one does not utter the word that brings into existence without first conceiving an idea of the thing to be brought into existence. One must first be able to gaze into that dark place of nothingness and envision that which will be brought into existence. The owl hieroglyph, which also conveys the idea of seeing --- especially in the dark --- is an appropriate symbol to be attached to Hu. For we know that the eye hieroglyph (D4) can also be associated with the male organ in the sense of bringing into existence. In Set I's Horus Name (variant A), and his Throne Name (variant G; see Pharaoh.Se), he uses the eye for the word 'begotten'. But before the eye can see properly, it must be cleared of any obstruction impeding its sight; the prepuce must be shorn from the urethral meatus (the symbolical 'eye'). It's more than a coincidence that the symbol for the god Ra (the circumpunct) resembles a POV of the glans penis.
Two gods related to actions involving the male genitalia. Logic supported by textual evidence makes Min/Khem older than Atum. And though Atum was the god associated with masturbation, it is the god Min/Khem who is --- or can be said to be --- depicted in the attitude of actually performing the act! So we must presuppose that in an earlier version it was Min/Khem who exclaimed, "Hu" --- or more likely "Uh" (ooh!) and "Ahh". In either case, it was the priesthood of Egypt that uniquely embodied the attributes belonging to these two gods. And we may now ascertain with greater clarity the purpose of the ritual of circumcision: to mark a person as one who'd been endowed with divine intelligence (perspicacity) and the ability to command and utilize the sacred language, in order to help bring into existence the mental designs of pharaoh (who, of course, was none other than the living image of Min/Khem --- though not always circumcised like Min).

So, basically, what appears to be a crude yet intricate form of symbolic/literary encryption, turns out to be nothing more than the ancient use of homographs and synonyms. Or Sen-onyms, if you prefer.
Afterthought: The race brought forth from the blood of Ra's self-mutilation was called the Ammiu. As I pointed out elsewhere, the name Misraim (i.e., Egypt) can be defined as "born 'mis/mes' [of] Ra" in a plural form '-im', rendering "they [who are] born of Ra," though there is supposedly a more official interpretation of it. Yet still compare the similarity between Misra and Mosera (Deut 10:6). Also note that Ammiu shares a common root with Ammi (Hos. 2:1,2:3), Ammonites (Gen. 19:38), Amun (a variant of the Biblical Amen), and Ammonians. The Ammonians, wrote Herodotus, were Ethiopians who worshipped the god Amun. Bearing in mind that the High Priest Phinehas was an Ethiopian, a deeper insight may now be given to Amos 9:7, "Are you not as children of the Ethiopians unto me, O children of Israel?...."
